The Department of Biotechniology is dedicated to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and passionate about research with specialisations in Agricultural and Food Biotechnology; Environmental Microbiology; Applied Genomics; Forensics; Nanotechnology: Structural Biology and Pharmacogenetics. It is accommodated in a new Life Sciences Building, providing state of the art facilities and a wide range of modern equipment.

PROFESSOR OF BIOTECHNOLOGY

To support undergraduate and research-based postgraduate teaching and to broaden the research base of this department, the University of the Western seeks to appoint an experience academic with a proven track record in biotechnological research.

Minimum criteria to be met are: a PhD in Biotechnology or a related field; a research and international publication record, and a record of research grant income, research activity and research productivity befitting the level of the appointment.

The appointee will be expected to develop and contribute to the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, administration and research activities of the Department. Research interests, which are aligned with the strategic interests of the Department, will be an advantage.
