Security Officer/Driver FCO - Foreign and Commonwealth Office

A fixed term position as a Security Officer/driver within the UK Joint Delegation to NATO has become available.
Main Roles
Security
- Wide range of security duties;
- Supervision of maintenance works teams;
- Carry out physical security checks;
- Coordinate Health & Safety checks and emergency evacuation drills;
- Liaison with the NATO Office of Security (NOS) and British Security Personnel;
- Brief new arrivals on security issues;
- Assist with organised visits to the Delegation, meeting and escorting visitors and issuing passes.
Driving
- Drive the Permanent Representative to NATO to and from work and to official appointments;
- Other occasional driving duties as tasked by the Delegation;
- General car maintenance: cleaning, polishing, tyre care.
Skills Required
Essential
- Good spoken and written English;
- A clean European Driving licence;
- Physically fit to drive;
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise activities;
- Ability to work effectively and flexibly with others;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to use Microsoft products such as Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Able to work a flexible shift system including possible evening work on alternate weeks.
Desirable
- A security background would be a distinct advantage;
- Ability to speak French would also be an advantage.
The successful applicant must be able to achieve the required level of U.K. security clearance before being formally appointed. They will also be expected to attend a Post Security Managers Course and a complete a Defensive Driving Course.
This position will be filled on a fixed term contract.
Gross Monthly Salary: € 2187.35 per month.
