Events Co-ordinator Internship , British Embassy

Corporate Services Benelux (CSB) provides a range of management services to the 3 British Missions in Brussels and the Benelux region.
This traineeship is an opportunity to gain experience in event planning and co-ordination in a busy Ambassador’s Residence.
Main role:
The Events Co-ordinator intern will assist the Residence Management team on a day to day basis with:
  • Providing administrative and office support to the Residence Manager and the Deputy Residence Manager
  • Assisting in the practical arrangements of setting up events
  • Printing of menu cards, table plans and name placements
  • Updating and printing of event details
  • Keeping track of data for management information reports
Skills and Experience you will gain:
  • General administrative experience including: supporting the Residence Manager and Deputy Residence Manager in daily duties; taking telephone calls and responding to emails, updating spreadsheets, filing.
  • Organisation skills: ability to plan and prioritise tasks
  • Experience of co-ordinating a wide range of events with internal and external customers
  • Experience of working in a team in a busy environment
  • Ability to solve problems and pay attention to detail
  • Experience of working in and English speaking work environment and International work environment
Skills required:
  • Flexibility, a pro-active attitude and the ability to work in a team
  • Good IT skills with sound working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • English language skills, working level knowledge of French and/or Dutch

The duration of the unpaid internship is based on operational needs for those that fulfil the criteria for unpaid traineeship and the availability of the trainee with a minimum duration of two months. Trainees are responsible for their own accommodation. We require third party liability insurance which is often supplied by the Academic Institution when applicable to cover the trainee in the event they are injured on the premises or damage property. We also require proof of medical coverage for the period of traineeship. Periods of traineeship are subject to security clearance.
