Junior Consultant

PA Europe NV has a vacancy for a Junior Consultant with work experience in the European Parliament and other EU institutions. The candidate is fluent in English and at least two other European languages, including Dutch or German, and has a strong interest in socio-political developments both in and outside the European Union. The candidate’s educational background should include academic degrees in political science, economics, history, law or European studies.

Job description:

• Under the guidance of a senior consultant or advisor work on a number of dossiers (client related portfolios) – for example in the area of EU food law, health, consumer protection, environment, trade, ICT and telecommunications, biotech, agriculture, energy, finance
• Drafting of memos, research reports, strategic reports, letters to stakeholders
• Preparation of and participation in meetings with clients
• Assist in liaising with European Commission, European Parliament, Member States’ authorities and societal stakeholders
• Attendance of events and workshops

Requirements:

• Thorough knowledge of European law and the European institutions obtained through an internship or work experience within the European Parliament, Commission or Council
• Master’s degree in EU Studies, Politics, Law, International Relations, Economics, History or related field
• Excellent command of Dutch and English is a must, besides very good knowledge of a third European language
• Proven writing, analytic and research skills
• Very good organisational skills, able to work effectively under time pressure and on various issues simultaneously, flexible
