Skills and experience required:

• Higher education (majoring in journalism, philology);
• Experience in the media in a similar position for at least 3 years;
• Fluent English;
• Good knowledge of Russia’s political and social life realities;
• Ability to quickly write quality columns;
• Personal qualities: high commitment, proactive approach, team-work skills.
• Knowledge of marketing fundamentals, skills in preparation of press releases;
• Experience in business writing;
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Weekly overviews of key internal and external political events and their analysis.
• Taking part in the development of prospective and current editorial plans, proposing new topics and subjects, as well as new presentation manners and styles.
• Key data acquiring, preparing questions for interviews with sources of information, administering meetings with them, interviews.
• Preparing analytical materials and summaries for publication involving documents and materials of the foreign, Russian federal and regional media, experts’ opinions, face-to-face interviews with experts, and other sources.
Recording interviews, including the use of audio, video, motion and still picture recording in compliance with the laws on the media. Maintaining contacts in media and public circles, inviting experts and senior journalists from other publications to cooperate freelance with the publication on a regular basis. Editing of copyright material, verification of cited quotations, names, numbers, and other evidence.
• Compiling and editing materials submitted by freelance journalists, providing them with creative support.
