Corporate Counsel

JOB SUMMARY
The Corporate Counsel will provide legal support to all departments. He/she will review transactions involving all aspects of International Medical Corps’ domestic and international activities, conduct legal research, draft legal documents and develop policies and procedures to help other departments ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Advise management on how to minimize legal risks while devising acceptable methods to accomplish corporate objectives
• Draft and review legal agreements with foreign and domestic entities and governments
• Advise field operations staff regarding registration requirements, litigation and personnel issues
• Monitor and disseminate legal information and developments that are applicable to International Medical Corps
• Develop key legal, policy and other documents for International Medical Corps
• Assist in developing training materials for staff to identify and resolve legal issues and conflicts
• Advise on and coordinate response to contractual disputes
• Provide support to the General Counsel
• Perform other duties as assigned.
COMPENSATION: Competitive Qualifications:• Strong academic credentials
• Admission to practice in any state
• 6 - 8 years of legal experience, preferably in a large law firm or non-profit organization
• Exceptional drafting and communication skills; ability to convey legal advice effectively to business teams
• Ability to multi-task
• Self-starter
• Strong negotiation skills
• Ability to develop collaborative relationships across a multi-country, multi-cultural organization.
