Counter-Fraud Specialist

At Oxfam, we owe it to our donors, supporters and the millions of people we help to make the best use of our resources. That means guaranteeing our work – from our UK operations to our global humanitarian aid and development programmes – keeps fraud and corruption to an absolute minimum. And that’s where you come in.
The role
In this key role, you’ll be instrumental in the delivery and ongoing development of our counter-fraud and anti-corruption programme. Advising the organisation and training managers and staff in counter-fraud strategies and procedures, the work you do will span the full breadth of our global operations. But as well as supporting and influencing managers in the UK and further afield, you’ll also be planning and conducting investigations. That means collecting and analysing data, producing high-quality reports and identifying areas of risk and potential improvement. You’ll also research the most innovative counter-corruption methodologies – and you’ll do all of it to the highest standards.
What we’re looking for
Whether you’re already a Certified Fraud Examiner or Accredited Counter-Fraud Specialist, are working towards your certification, or are prepared to undertake such training, you’ll have plenty of professional experience in deterring, preventing and detecting occupational fraud and corruption. You may be a qualified auditor, accountant or logistician, or have a counter-fraud or investigative qualification – but either way you’ll bring your understanding of risk management and experience of conducting interviews as part of the investigative process. You’ll also know your way around MS Office and have the analytical, numerical, influencing and communication skills this role demands. Ideally, you’ll have good experience of the humanitarian and global development sector, and of the relevant legal frameworks. Crucially, you’ll be able to deliver under pressure whilst maintaining an acute cultural sensitivity, wherever you are.
This role is based in Oxford, UK with up to 50% travel globally.
About Oxfam
A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There’s enough wealth in this world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It’s unjustifiable. It’s not just their problem. It’s ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.
Interviews will be held week commencing 18th January 2016.
