TEAM PURPOSE:
The Cash Learning Partnership (CaLP) is a dynamic and collaborative global partnership of humanitarian actors actively engaged in the critical areas of policy, practice and research within cash transfer programming (CTP). Formed of a community of practice which includes over 150 organisations and up to 5,000 individuals in the wider humanitarian sector, the CaLP aims to catalyse progressive change in practice to effectively meet the needs of people and communities affected by crises. The CaLP is based on learning, knowledge sharing, networking and coordination around the appropriate and timely use of CTP in humanitarian response.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Capacity Building Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of CaLP’s global Capacity Building strategy, targeting institutions and individuals to achieve excellence in Cash Transfer Programming. S/he will lead the shift from CaLP’s current capacity building model, which is centred on training delivery, to a model which provides targeted support to institutions, and structured learning approaches for individuals – recognising the different competencies required to support CTP. This strategy is currently under development but will include:
  • An institutional capacity building programme, based on a standardised organisational capacity assessment tool
  • A structured individual learning programme based on a modular competency-based training framework and clear learning pathways for different functions
  • Strategic partnerships for certification and accreditation; leveraging the CaLP membership to expand CaLP’s capacity building reach
The Capacity Building Coordinator will also be responsible for overseeing the quality of the training components of CaLP’s capacity building strategy, including: revision of existing materials; development of new training materials. S/he will also deliver a select number of Global-level trainings.
The Capacity Builder Coordinator will be home based with frequent travel globally (30%). This includes global training locations (for specialized trainings/institutionalisations, state/donor trainings etc), CaLP’s secretariat (in Oxford), Geneva and CaLP regional hubs. S/he will manage the global capacity building team (exact composition to be defined) and remotely matrix manage and provide technical support to up to 5 regional Capacity Building Officers (CBOs).
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION:
We are looking for a candidate with excellent analytical and critical thinking ability, experience in developing comprehensive training and skills development packages, curriculum-development and practical learning / experience based approaches, proven knowledge of different learning pathways, and applications of competency frameworks, technically experienced in Cash Transfer Programming (CTP), through either policy or practice, Strong commitment to CaLP’s vision and mandate with a willingness to ‘walk the extra mile’. Previous working experience in at least two of CaLP’s present focus regions (West Africa, East Africa and Asia)
