enior Finance Officer

Our client, is a provider of global financial support and advice to local organisations and networks whose purpose is to improve living conditions of people in Africa, Latin America, Asia, and Eastern Europe. The client wishes to recruit a Senior Finance Officer for their Bukavu Office in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Reporting to the Country Programme Manager, the Senior Finance Officer (SFO) is responsible for donor funds management within programmes and partnership projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analysis and assessment of programme and project proposals including budgets, annual accounts and cash flow forecasts
  • Monitoring and evaluation of partner organisations’ programmes and project financial performance through analysis of financial statements, policies and audits
  • Providing advice to beneficiary partners on plans preparation and review, budgets, performance reports, project proposals, financial projections and return-on- investment analysis
  • Providing the donor with advice and assessment on the beneficiary partners’ financial capacity, accountability systems and business plans
  • Enhancing and promoting transparency and good governance through facilitation of capacity building and expert knowledge in financial management, policy and control of partner organisations
  • Daily management of the Bukavu office’s financial operations and team
  • Supervise the financial department of the sub-regional office team.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following prerequisites:

  • Bachelors’ degree (Accounting option) with minimum CPA II and at least 5 years’ relevant experience OR CPA/ACCA and at least 8 years’ relevant experience
  • Computer literacy in MS Office and MS Dynamics or equivalent
  • Demonstrable success in establishing ‘community-friendly’ financial management systems
  • Strong interpersonal with an ability to work independently while building teams

The ideal candidate must demonstrate experience and ability to work in both English and French languages, both orally and in writing.
