Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense drugs and counsel patients on proper use of the various drugs dispensed.
- Where necessary, highlight drug therapy issues to prescribers to ensure optimum care of patients
- Take part in supply chain management to ensure that essential stocks are available in the pharmacy at all times.
- Monitor stock levels of drugs and place orders as necessary
- Receipt and proper storage of pharmaceuticals
- Keep appropriate documentation for accountability and research needs.
- Monitor patient adherence to long-term treatment especially antiretrovirals (ARVs)
- Monitor storage conditions, expiry status and security of pharmaceuticals
- Assist in preparation of ARV reports and submission to Ministry of Health
- Assume other study related duties as assigned
Qualification, Skills and Competence
Applicants should have:

- Diploma in Pharmacy from a college licensed by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board;
- 2 years experience in a community or hospital pharmacy;
- Good knowledge of essential drugs and medical supplies;
- Ability to dispense, record and report accurately;
- Good communication & interpersonal skills, flexible and with proven ability to work in a team;
- Proficiency in Microsoft office applications
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience in research, especially with the Most-at-Risk Populations, is an added advantage.
