Core Team Coordinator/Team Leader in Project and Programme Management (PPCM)

The ‘Methodological Support and Training for Project and Programme Management (PPCM)’ project will provide support to the design and implementation of projects and programmes by providing the EC staff in headquarters and delegations involved in external assistance with methodological support and training in aspects related to the programming, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of EC aid operations. PPCM was previously known as the Aid Delivery Methods programme (ADM).

SIPU International invites applications for the role as the Core Team Coordinator (Senior) with the following profile:

Solid experience in management, capacity building and experience with EU institutions is mandatory.

The Coordinator’s requested qualifications are:

  • MA in Economics, Law, International Relations, Development or equivalent;
  • Fluent in both English and French and draft concisely in both languages;
  • Significant previous management and/or capacity building experience;
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience;
  • Thematic experience in one of the fields covered by the contract (i. e. Aid delivery methods / Capacity development / Governance, political economy, public administration, decentralisation and service delivery / Macroeconomics and public finance management / Integration of climate change and environment in development cooperation / Strategic sector specific guidance for operational implementation in concentration areas of European Union development cooperation);
  • Experience in development cooperation and aid modalities;
  • Experience with EU institutions;
  • Experience in Project Cycle Management;
  • Experience in adult training;
  • Capacity to plan, coordinate and manage large scale training programmes and other capacity building input within the program;
  • Capacity to communicate and network in a multicultural environment.

The Coordinator's role will be as follows:

The Coordinator will be in charge of the overall coordination of the activities. He/she will be the first point of contact with the European Commission for current planning and monitoring of methodological and training work. She/he will be based in Brussels and will have to ensure adequate time availability necessary to ensure effective and quality management of the overall activities. The Coordinator will be assisted by a full time Editorial Support and Multimedia Content Production Coordinator, two full-time Junior Experts as well as administrative staff. For the implementation of activities within PPCM, the Coordinator and her/his team will work closely with a group of experts and trainers.

  • He/she will be in charge of the overall coordination of the activities;

  • He/she will be based in Brussels and will have to ensure adequate time availability necessary to ensure effective and quality management of the overall activities.

The role full-time, Brussels-based position for a period of 12 months (with a possible extension of two years), starting from 1st September 2011.
