Reporter/Editor – Markets and Online News

RISI is the leading information provider for the global forest products industry. Headquartered in the US, with offices in Asia, Europe and Latin America, we are seeking a reporter/editor for our Brussels office.

Responsibilities:

1) Produce news and market reviews on the European pulp and paper industry for our leading publication, PPI Europe.

• Report news related to paper packaging markets
• Collect pricing information from buyers and sellers
• Analyze and report on market trends

2) Online news: Coordinate European online breaking news coverage

• Report breaking industry news
• Supervise outsourced news aggregation team and review/edit submissions
• Manage online breaking news page

Required skills:

• Excellent interviewing and writing skills
• The ability to meet varied deadlines (e.g. daily, weekly and monthly)
• Accuracy
• Initiative
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Very strong written and verbal English skills; must have professional experience writing in English

Useful skills:

• Online journalism experience
• Knowledge of European languages

The post includes some travel opportunities. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
