Background:
The mission of the Infectious Diseases Institute (1DI) is to build capacity of health systems in Africa for the delivery of sustainable, high quality care and prevention of HIV/AIDS and related infectious diseases through training, research, and advanced clinical services. IDI has four operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory services (provided through a partnership with the Makerere University-John Hopkins University Core Lab.
As part of the expansion of the national care and
treatment response, IDI has recently been awarded
a grant through the Civil Society Fund to scale up
access to innovative Hi V/AIDS-care, treatment and
support services that are evidence based. Through
this Civil Society Fund/Regional Referral Hospitals
(CSF/RRH) Project, 1DI will closely work with
eight Regional Referral Hospitals, Civil Society
Organizations as well as communities.
The project will significantly contribute to the care and
treatment targets within the national HIV/ AIDS
strategic plan (MSP) of Uganda.
IDL therefore seeks suitably qualified candidates to
fill the project based positions as follows:





6. POSITION: DATA/MEDICAL RECORDS CLERK (9 POSITIONS)
Reports to: Data Manager CSF/RRH Project
Summary: Under the supervision of the Data
Manager, the data /medical records clerks register all patients and record all appropriate patient data into the data base. The position entails the compilation of patient data and ensuring orderliness of the medical records room.

Job Responsibilities:
• Provide clerical and data management assistance
• Assist in inputting of clerical data using processing system
• Maintain data for input into the data processing ' system
• Review data for accuracy and completeness, identifying errors
• Participate in analysis and interpretation of data collection
• Ensure proper data in both soft and hard copies
• Records patient visits and other registration data in appropriate books
• Pulls patient files for the clinic day
• Files all patient files at completion of the clinic
• Files all laboratory test results in correct patient files

Job requirement

Education and Experience:
• Diploma or Certificate in records management and archives
• Two years experience in medical records keeping with at least one year as an electronic data entrant in an HIV/AIDS care setting
• Computer literacy .

Knowledge. Skills and abilities:
• Excellent communication skills
• Computer knowledge and skills
• Knowledge of Health Information Management System
