Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Exeter and Plymouth - Peninsula Clinical Trials Unit

The Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry is making a significant investment in Clinical Trials and is seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to the role of Director of the Peninsula Clinical Trials Unit. The Director will be responsible for the leadership, oversight and management of the College's Clinical Trial activities. You will be an academic (clinical or non clinical ) with a substantial track record in successfully leading all aspects of clinical trials, have an internationally excellent/world leading research reputation, strong leadership skills, sound business sense and strategic acumen.

The College is a partnership with the University of Exeter, the University of Plymouth and the NHS in Devon and Cornwall, with established excellent research in biomedicine, health services research and medical education.

The UKCRC-registered Peninsula Clinical Trials Unit (PenCTU) provides researchers and clinicians with multi-disciplinary academic support for the design and conduct of high quality clinical trials and other research studies. PenCTU support services cover all aspects of trial activity including study design, protocol development, health economics, randomisation, trial management, data management, statistical analysis and publication.

You will be expected to drive forward, with the support of the Dean, Vice Dean of Research and Research Institute Directors the expansion and development of the team to facilitate the growth of activity across the Peninsula. You will also further develop the strategic vision of the Clinical Trials Unit in line with the College's Research Strategy.

You will be appointed to the University of Exeter or the University of Plymouth and a remuneration package will be negotiated at the time of appointment. The college would like to encourage applications from individuals with existing teams.
