Lecturer in Urban Planning and Urban Studies

The School of Social Sciences at UWS strives to achieve excellence in research and teaching and seeks to develop a culture that encourages intellectual development and fosters community engagement. The School aims to provide innovative and relevant undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and we offer a range of courses in vocational areas, including Sociology, Community Welfare, Criminology, Social Work, Tourism Studies, and Geography. Many of the programs that are managed by the School lead to professional recognition in areas such as Social Work, Planning, Community Welfare and Policing, whilst others have been developed in consultation of the relevant industry and public sectors.

Applications are invited for the continuing position of Level B Lecturer from scholars with teaching and research strengths in Geography and Urban Studies. The successful applicant will have PhD qualifications and a demonstrable record of excellence in teaching and high level international publications relevant to Geography and Planning or other related Social Science areas.

The School operates in a multi-campus environment and the successful applicant is expected to teach on all campuses on which the School operates in face-to-face teaching delivery and/or through blended learning technologies. This position will be on a campus to be determined.

Remuneration Package from 13 May 2011: Lecturer (Academic Level B) $96,915 to $114,361 p.a. (comprising Salary of $81,894 to $96,703 p.a.; 17% Superannuation, and Leave Loading).
