Molecular / Clinical Microbiology Training & Applications Specialist

Our mission is to promote and train laboratories and health institutions on the use of our cutting edge technology in molecular diagnostics.

We focus on many infectious diseases such as Tuberculosis, in which we are helping to diagnose Multi-Drug Resistant TB (MDR TB) and Extreme Drug Resistant TB (XDR TB).

Hain Lifescience East Africa Ltd. is seeking a Molecular / Clinical Microbiology Training & Applications Specialist

Duties:

• Training and lab capacity building in molecular diagnostic / line probe assay testing in East, West & Central Africa
• Perform lab evaluation and preparation visits (Travel required)
• Application process monitoring of institutions using the Hain assay methods
• Creation of customer follow up and support systems
• Timely resolution of customer- use problems encountered
• Development & update of lab SOPs
• Clinical study initiation and supervision
• Creation & execution of molecular diagnostic training modules

Qualifications:

• Bachelors/Masters degree in Clinical Microbiology &/or Molecular Biology or Biomedical Science
• Microbiology lab technologist (an added advantage)
• Experience in mycobacteriology
• Experience in PCR/molecular lab work
• Possible previous research & publishing in bacteriology

Additional:

• Knowledge of French is a plus
• Previous cross cultural/country interaction, an advantage
• Previous training experience a plus
• Have a valid passport
