The Department of Mathematics at the University of Waikato has been ranked first in New Zealand in the subject of Pure and Applied Mathematics in all previous rounds of the national PBRF (Performance-Based Research Fund) research assessment exercise.

We are seeking to fill two continuing positions at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level. You will have a PhD in Mathematics, or equivalent, and will have demonstrated the ability to sustain a successful teaching and research career. You will be expected to contribute to the department’s undergraduate and graduate teaching programme. Our preference is for one appointment in Pure Mathematics and the other in Applied Mathematics.

The salary range (from 1 August 2011) for Lecturers will be NZ$65,886 to NZ$80,441 per year, and for Senior Lecturers NZ$82,468 to NZ$110,614 per year, depending on qualifications, skills and experience.
