Human Resources Assistant (Temporary)

PSI seeks an energetic, skilled individual to assist the fast-paced Recruitment and Human Resources Departments of a dynamic organization. The position provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the field of international development through the eyes of the hiring managers and gain human resources experience with domestic and international employees. The position is a temporary four month assignment based in Washington, D.C. The HR Assistant will be assisting up to 4 HR Advisors and an HR Manager.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in various recruitment functions such as posting jobs, checking references, administering tests, background checking, phone screening, scheduling interviews, creating recruitment files, reviewing resumes and applications
  • Run various reports from HRIS
  • Assist HR team with processing LOAs, returns from LOA, FMLA and Disability Calendars
  • Assist HR team with other HR functions and projects as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • Prefer 2 years of HR / staffing support experience
  • Advanced computer skills, especially Excel, required
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Creative problem solving ability
  • Interest in HR
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality of all information
