Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for one position of Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Chemical Engineering, in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technology. This position will be permanent and pensionable for Lesotho nationals but full time on contract for a period of two years with a possibility of renewal for non-locals.
REQUIREMENTS:
A PhD or MSC degree qualification in Chemical Engineering is required. A PhD holder will have a priority. Adequate knowledge of basic electronics will be additional advantage. Appropriate research experience and substantial experience of teaching Chemical Engineering at University level are essential. The successful candidate will commence duty in August 2011.
DUTIES:
Duties will include: teaching courses in the area of Chemical Technology, and in particular the areas of chemical engineering principles, industrial chemical processes, business management in industrial processes, environmental aspects of industrial chemistry, catalysis and materials to both undergraduate and post graduate students, supervision of students’ projects, supervision of laboratory classes for the practical components of courses assigned to teach, taking part in the research activities of the department and writing research proposals that would enable securing of research funds, designing new programmes and courses for postgraduate training in chemical technology. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
