Regional Research and Policy Coordinator, Middle East, Eastern Europe and the CIS (MEEECIS) (Oxfam GB)

£23,090– £29,954 NET + accommodation benefits and relocation costs
Oxford

Finding lasting solutions to poverty means putting together the strongest campaigns possible. And by providing the evidence we need to maximise their impact, you’ll make sure we’re doing the right thing at the right time for the right people – shaping the direction and quality of our work throughout MEEECIS.

The role
We want to strengthen our campaign work at a national and regional level. And by creating this new role, we’re investing in the skills we need to make sure everything we do is entirely evidence based. Acting as a thought leader and collaborating with influential local research institutions, you’ll produce and manage research that strengthens our strategic thinking and helps us make a bigger difference. And whether you’re monitoring major trends in the region, building the research skills of our teams, agreeing research priorities or developing policy positions on poverty and inequality, you’ll make sure we focus on the most relevant issues – helping people to get back on their feet and move forward across the whole of MEEECIS.

What we’re looking for
A strong and innovative thinker with substantial experience of development work in countries affected by poverty, you’ll be more than familiar with the voluntary sector. It’ll be your proven experience of lobby work and understanding of research methodology – especially for campaigning purposes – that will stand you in good stead when supporting other researchers and policy staff. And if you can bring all this plus a broad understanding of the issues facing MEEECIS, you could soon be enjoying a varied role that offers a real chance to make an impact at the heart of a highly respected network.
