VACANCY: SENIOR ASSISTANT DIRECTOR REFORMS STRATEGY MANAGEMENT



The Directorate of Public Service Management (DPSM) exists to set Human Resource policy direction and provide guidance to the Public Service.

A talented, proactive, innovative and self driven individual is therefore sought to fill the above mentioned position.



MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB



To manage the implementation of the Public Service Reform Strategy by successfully coordinating all the programme activities and creating an enabling framework for sustainable programme delivery.



KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS



Provide strategic direction, technical expertise and professional guidance in the implementation of the Public Service Reform Strategy.

Develops strategy implementation work plans, and guides ministries in the execution, coordination and communication of performance results.

Promotes dialogue on the reform agenda by engaging in policy dialogue with stakeholders internal and external and making presentations to project the Botswana Public Service Reforms Strategy.

Promotes identification, analysis and implementation of best practice Performance Management System programme, techniques and tools.

Provides strategic support to Ministries or performance management.

Undertakes monitoring and support visits to Ministries and Departments, assesses and provides periodic reports on the performance of Ministries and Independent Departments. Promotes strategic partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders for support in the implementation of the reforms programme;

Leads and coordinate the performance of Teams within the Reform Strategy Management Section, and ensure outputs are consistent with the approved work plan.


QUALIFIED APPLICANT PROFILE


To be considered for appointment to this position, candidates must have at least a Bachelor's Degree in any Social Science, Science and Education or equivalent complemented by sixteen (16) years relevant post qualification experience.

Postgraduate training in Strategic Management, Projecf Management, Performance Management System or related field would be an added advantage. Candidates must have substantial experience in the management and coordination of reforms, major programmes and demonstrate ability to coordinate complex projects and programmes, be self motivated and self driven.

Applicants must have also served at senior management level in Government, Private sector or Parastatal organisation.
