INVITATION TO TENDER - MARKET STUDY FOR THE DEMAND FOR SALT AND SODA ASH IN BOTSWANA. D.R.C. MALAWI, NAMIBIA, SOUTH AFRICA, ZAMBIA AND ZIMBABWE.
Botswana Ash (Pty) Ltd (Botash) at www.botash.bw was established in 1991 and is located at Sua Pan in north eastern Botswana. Botash is the largest manufacturer of Salt (sodium chloride) and Soda Ash (sodium carbonate) in the southern African region. The nameplate capacity of the plant is 300 000 tonnes of Soda Ash and 650 000 tonnes of Salt per annum.
In order to tap into current and future growth opportunities for Salt and Soda Ash, the company wishes to engage a reputable market research company to conduct market research in the above listed countries. Detailed Terms of Reference (ToR) can be obtained after pre-qualification and payment of a fee of P560 (VAT inclusive) payable to Botswana Ash.
An initial screening process will be used to pre-qualify companies that will be invited to participate in this tender, interested companies must submit a written request for the detailed ToR by e-mailing their request to research@botash.bw with effect from Monday 11 - Friday 29 April 2011 .This request must include a 5-6 page company profile that includes the following information:
1. Certified copies of the company's Certificate of Incorporation; Share Certificate and Directors Certificate issued by the Registrar of Companies
2. Up to 2 pages stating previous market research work undertaken - names of past and current clients; study undertaken; year of study and at least 2 contact people per company.
3. A valid Tax Clearance certificate
Only companies that meet these minimum criteria will be pre-qualified to participate in this Tender and informed accordingly. After receipt of payment, each company will receive the ToR and Information Pack for the study. Any request that does not include this initial information will be disqualified. No verbal enquiries will be entertained.
Botswana Ash reserves the right to award the entire tender to a single company or to split the tender among several companies. Botswana Ash is not obliged to divulge reasons for acceptance or rejection of any tender. All costs for the site visits and preparation of tender documents will be for the Tenderer.
Botswana Ash will arrange a site visit for all pre-qualified companies on a date to be determined by Botash. No individual company visits will be arranged.
