Development Associate

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: 
Women’s World Banking (WWB) is an international network of MFIs in several countries working to bring financial services and information to low-income entrepreneurs. Its mission is to expand the economic assets, participation, and power of poor women as entrepreneurs and economic agents by opening their access to finance, knowledge and markets. It seeks to alleviate global poverty by expanding the economic assets, participation, and power of the poor, especially women.
ABOUT THE JOB: 
WWB is seeking a Development Associate. S/he will be responsible for supporting ongoing fundraising efforts and donor relations. S/he will also implement day-to-day administrative needs of department. 
Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Manage gift processing and donor acknowledgements;
  • Develop donor pipeline by identifying and researching prospects aligned with the organization's mission;
  • Ensure data integrity, maintenance, and departmental use of Salesforce;
  • Design, run, and monitor performance against targets reports in Salesforce;
  • Prepare materials as required, including PowerPoint presentations and analytical reports;
  • Work with other departments to ensure proposals are on-strategy, aligned with the organization’s business needs and telling a compelling story;
  • Support logistics for:
    • Donor-related events including an annual benefit for 300 people as well as small donor events in multiple cities. Work closely with the Development team to create strong donor experiences to enhance engagement with the organization;
    • Other events and engagements as needed.
  • Support team in scheduling and managing itineraries for domestic/international travel and events;
  • Coordinate the timely preparation of any materials required to support meetings and grant proposals. Ensure that materials are prepared and reviewed for accuracy and available when needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • About 0-3 years professional experience;
  • Experience in event planning;
  • Experience with scheduling and managing complex, fluid itineraries for occasional international and domestic travel/events;
  • Fluency in English. Spanish and/or French highly desirable;
  • Knowledge of or proficiency in Salesforce;
  • Outstanding abilities to prioritize, analyze, synthesize, organize, and effectively manage multiple competing tasks with excellent attention to details and follow-through;
  • Excellent written and verbal skills;
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment;
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality presentation materials. Possess advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills. Capacity to work effectively in teams and in diverse settings;
  • Possess a high degree of self-initiative and resourcefulness. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. Ability to trouble shoot and solve problems. Ability to initiate and coordinate numerous activities with a minimum of supervision;
  • Results-oriented. Ability to make the most of limited resources;
  • Possess and exercise good judgment;
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
