Senior WASH Advisor

WaterAid America is looking for a highly motivated and engaging team player to join us as a Senior WASH Advisor. The Advisor will play a vital role in our mission to transform lives with safe water, sanitation and hygiene in the world’s poorest communities.

The Senior WASH Advisor is an exciting new position reporting directly to CEO of WaterAid America and will:

• provide advice and guidance on design and innovation in programs, policy and applied research that test and advance long-term sustainability in the WASH sector
• promote excellence in program and partner support to develop best practice approaches that draw on WASH sector learning
• assist WaterAid America communicate our impact to both external and internal audiences.

To be successful, you’ll need to have

Masters’ degree in a field relevant to WASH or other relevant qualification
• Minimum of 10+ years' experience in supporting, designing, implementing and monitoring WASH programs in low-income countries
• Experience living/working in the developing world
• Proficiency in English as well as a second language (Spanish preferred, French also advantageous)
• Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and communication skills
• Relevant project, people and budget-management experience
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% annually
• Ability to work effectively with a range of people, organisations and cultures across all levels
• A team player who is able to work collaboratively and under pressure
• A commitment to WaterAid values and a working style that reflects this
