Director Economics and Programme Development

Airports Council International (ACI) is the international association that serves and represents the interests of more than 1,700 airports worldwide.  From its World Office in Montreal, ACI leads the engagement with international organisations (principally the International Civil Aviation Organisation) and other industry stakeholder associations (such as the International Air Transport Association and the Civil Air Navigation Service Organisation).
Position title:  Director Economics and Programme Development
Reports to:     Director General
Supervises:    Statistics Department
I.        Areas of Responsibility:
  • Takes responsibility for ensuring that airport industry interests and positions in the area of airport economics are developed and communicated effectively in close coordination with the ACI World Economics Standing and regional economics committees
  • Ensures the timely collection, accuracy and distribution of airport industry statistics (global passenger and freight traffic & financial performance data), and financial data on a monthly and annual basis as well as the analysis of the data.
  • Develops and manages ACI consultancy and membership service programmes

II.       Major Duties and Accountabilities:
  • Secretary of World Economics Standing Committee
  • Organization’s mouthpiece on airport economics and statistics
  • Issuing monthly and quarterly traffic reports
  • Production of World Annual Traffic Report (WATR)
  • Production of annual Airport Economics Survey
  • Participation in ICAO Airport Economics Panel and other related ICAO activities
  • Develop and manage membership services programme (as the case may be in coordination with joint venture partners)
  • Engages with multilateral financial and economic development entities
  • Assists with capacity building in airport commercial and economic areas
  • Represent ACI at meetings and conferences as a subject matter expert
  • Prepare speeches and presentations for DG or own delivery
  • Other collateral assignments as directed by DG

The successful applicant will be offered an attractive salary, medical benefits and be eligible to enrol in the ACI Registered Retirement Savings Plan, and should ideally be able to start as early as possible.  Employment in Canada of Non-Canadian Residents will be subject to the issue of a Work Permit and this could affect the start date.
