SIB Manager (Science, Innovation and Business Manager)

The European Alliance for Innovation; www.eai.eu is a community driven organization devoted to empowering ICT innovation in Europe. The EAI innovation community spans the stakeholders in the ICT value chain from education through to business, industry and policy makers. EAI provides an environment for ICT innovation interaction that is both virtual — through EAI web portals — physical — through EAI conferences and summits — and organizational — through the Science and Innovation Councils (SIB).

The community SIBs are is organized on a thematic basis, following such as ICT Computing, ICT Green technologies, ICT for Development (including Education, governance and Peace) and others. SIBs aim at opening up spaces for creating synergies, encourage a broader view for participants, engage them in the large EAI community and provide tools for fruitful and accelerated processes of participatory innovation.

EAI provides each SIB with an eco-system that is designed to promote community growth and drive innovation

Membership to an EAI SIB is free with SIB’s financial sustainability derived from members’ participatory activities and sponsorships.

EAI is seeking to fill multiple positions of SIB Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development growth and participation of the assigned community sector (SIB) and the participatory member activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote and market the SIB community and its activities
• Ensure that EAI activities and other community tools are available for the growth of the SIB are available
• Grow the SIB community represents the full range of stakeholders across the ICT innovation value chain
• According to the EAI governance structure deliver and manage a SIB committees
• Oversee volunteer activities in support of the SIB
• Promote the information flow in the SIB and manage the content
• Envision and promote the growth and exchange of facilitation services connected to the EAI/SIB activities
• Manage an annual SIB summit portal and innovation segment of two SIB
• Maximize economically sound activities derived from the SIB initiatives
• Ability to network for the SIB identifying strategic partners and promoting a co-oiperative approach

Key skills/competencies:

• Demonstrable successful track record in community building
• Excellent communication skills, preferably in the Sci/Tech field. English fluency, another language desirable.
• Business centric
• Knowledge and experience related to the ICT innovation participants an advantage
• Event and Conference experience an advantage
• Previous participation in business/service oriented networks an advantage
• University degree preferable
