GLOBAL LEADERSHIP AND IMPACT IN PUBLIC HEALTH INNOVATIVE & DYNAMIC PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP

Launched in 2005, the International Finance Facility for Immunisation Company (IFFIm) is a multilateral development institution, established as a UK charity. IFFIm's primary purpose is to provide funding for the immunisation programmes of the GAVI Alliance by accessing the international capital markets to support vaccines and health system strengthening programmes.

Since its inception, IFFIm has raised more than $3 billion in the capital markets to fund GAVI Alliance programmes. IFFIm benefits from legallybinding commitments of up to 20 years from ten government donors and offers the "predictability" that developing countries need to make long-term budget and planning decisions about immunisation programmes.

The Chairman of IFFIm holds one of the most prominent leadership roles in public health with true impact in addressing the growing global need for child immunisation. The appointment of a strong and effective successor will be critical to consolidate the achievements of IFFIm to date and carry it through the coming years in support of the GAVI Alliance and its resource mobilisation.

IFFIm is seeking an exceptional candidate of the highest integrity and credibility who is able and willing to be a dynamic and charismatic leader who would serve as an advocate for GAVI/IFFIm and maternal and child health. The ideal candidate will bring an extensive network, recent experience in and working knowledge of capital markets, experience in chairing public or private sector boards, exposure to governance in a complex structure, and a commitment to or experience in the international development field. This nonremunerated post requires a commitment of between 25 and 30 days per year.
