Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOEF)

This is an opportunity for qualified staff to support the Ministry in its work of following the policy priorities of the State of Qatar. This is a real prospect for people with a background in economics or a closely related subject such as business, finance, accounting, public administration, or statistics, to support the Ministry in developing this new area of policy-related activity. The MOEF is seeking to fill the following key positions:

Tax and Revenue Analysts: Public Revenue and Taxes Department

The Ministry intends to appoint up to [five] tax/revenue analysts. Major responsibilities will include researching and reporting on tax and revenue policy, expressing opinions on laws and regulations related to public revenues, the projection, monitoring and evaluation of revenue receipts, as well as providing regular policy advice to the Director of the Public Revenue and Taxes Department and other senior Ministry and government officials.

Interested candidates must hold a degree in accounting, statistics, or economics, or closely related fields, have a working knowledge of English as well as the following desired attributes:

Desired background

  • Knowledge of taxes and of the principles underlying fiscal policy development.
  • Knowledge of basic economics / statistics / econometrics / accounting / data manipulation and modeling and forecasting techniques.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex tax issues to non-technicians.
  • Basic computer skills.
