Associates & Senior Associates
The Financial Services Authority is an independent, non-governmental body regulating the UK’s financial services industry, protecting consumers and maintaining market confidence. Our Conduct Policy Division covers mortgages, banking, general insurance, pensions, investment products and consumer protection when a firm fails or a product or service has gone wrong. We are responsible for developing and maintaining business standards for authorised firms, as well as providing policy advice to a range of internal and external stakeholders – which is where you come in.
Drawing on your impressive range of skills and experience, you’ll work towards becoming a policy expert within your given field. The core of your role will focus on developing policy proposals and piloting them through our policymaking process, providing policy advice to colleagues, firms, consumers and other stakeholders and maintaining our conduct of business sourcebooks. Contributing to our engagement with the EU and other international bodies will also be key, as will providing briefings and advising on speeches to a range of stakeholders, and staying abreast of market developments.
Our associates boast a diverse range of backgrounds but all bring an understanding of retail financial services, as well as an appreciation of the wider impact of regulation. We will also be looking for an analytical mind, the ability to think clearly, rigorously and imaginatively, strong relationship management and communication skills, and sound judgement.
So if you’d like to work in an intellectually stimulating environment and make a real contribution to the development of financial regulation in the UK and internationally, we’d like to hear from you.
