JOB OPPORTUNITY The Residence Zanzibar

We are looking for a truly outstanding individual with boundless energy and an enthusiasm for the following positions.

1. Receptionist

The position is responsible for managing the reception, receiving guests, attending to their needs and disseminating information to other departments.

The position involves making recommendations to the Front Desk Manager on issues related to the reception and front office operations.

2. Reservationist

• Ensure effective communication and co-operation between Reservations Department and all other departments of the hotel
• Ensure effective communication with our guests
• Handling of reservations by telephone and fax
• Handling of group and banqueting enquiries
• Updating reservations via the Reservation system
• Check maintenance of the established standards in the Reservation Department
• Apply the correct application of rates
• Development and management of guest contacts

3. Waiter/Waitress

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Maximum age of 35 years and a minimum of 24 years.
• Candidates with prior experience in hotels or busy restaurants are encouraged to apply immediately.
• To be able to do table set up according to the standard.
• To be able to set & refill the buffet as per standard.
• To make the Misen Plus for the cold/warm scented towels
• To clean & prepare the reading glasses and torch light
• To make the Misen Plus of the napkins for all restaurant uses





4. Barman
• Ensure high level of quality services are delivered to guests at all times within the bar as per standards
• To ensure professional and friendly welcome to all guests in the bar.
• To anticipate and attend to guests needs and ensure maximum guest satisfaction at all times.
• To do the cleaning of the trays, work areas and of all equipment like chairs, table etc.
• Make the pool/ beach set up & closing as per standard
• To set up the bar counter according to the standard.

5. Restaurant Manager

Duties &responsibilities
• Keeps monthly inventory of equipment and utensils for control purposes
• Monthly analysis of food costs and F&B breakages and provide reports accordingly
• Take over full responsibility for the entire Cash Float
• Increase sales figures by new sales channels by motivating and training service Team Members
• Adhere to departmental operating expenses as laid out in the budgets/forecast.
• Compile departmental work schedules and manage departmental payroll in line with budgets
• Ensure high level of quality services are delivered to guests at all times within the restaurant as per standards
• Handling and monitoring of guests complaints and the relevant follow up action required
• To work closely with the Executive Chef & F&B Manager for the implementation of menus, buffets and other F&B service offers.

6. Room Service Manager

• To ensure professional and friendly welcome to all guests in villas.
• To anticipate and attend to guests needs and ensure maximum guest satisfaction at all times.
• To ensure that guests are properly informed and guided regarding the choices available in terms of room services menus.
• Ensures observance of health and sanitary regulations in room service by giving appropriate instructions to staff.
• Control the cleaning of the trays, work areas and of all equipment, table cloths and accessories.
• To maintain a constant and timely service in room and an efficient trolley collection as per set standard
• To brief all waiters, head waiters about specialty menus based on guests’ tastes and preferences as well as their likes and dislikes
• To ensure accurate and proper billing for room service and keeping all records of all unpaid consumption

Minimum Qualifications:
• Certificate of Secondary Education or equivalent
• Certificate or Diploma in a relevant field.
• 2 years experience in a similar position
• Previous work experience in the hospitality industry will be an added advantage for any position.

• Courteous and smart in appearance
