Project Summary:

The purpose of the four-year project will be to design and manage a comprehensive system to gather and analyze data that informs USAID’s Feed the Future (FtF) program through impact evaluation, performance monitoring, and knowledge sharing. This monitoring and evaluation project will cover USAID FtF activities worldwide. The Feed the Future initiative is a Presidential Initiative that seeks to improve nutrition and increase agricultural productivity in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Position Summary:

MSI is seeking a Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator to serve as overall project coordinator for the West Africa region, which includes focus countries Ghana, Liberia, Mali, Senegal. This is a long-term position, based in Accra, Ghana, and will involve extensive regional travel.

Responsibilities:

• All aspects of oversight and coordination of the project’s three principal components, which include impact evaluation, performance monitoring and knowledge management for the USAID Feed the Future program in West Africa; • Serving as principal liaison with USAID Missions, Regional Economic Communities and development partners; • Providing oversight for data collection; • Hosting and participating in knowledge management events.

Qualifications:

• Management of research projects in the food security sector; • Familiarity with USAID Feed the Future initiative preferred, but not required; • A strong background in evaluation, and some familiarity with rigorous evaluation approaches; • Extensive research and evaluation experience in areas related to food security; • PhD preferred, with an advanced degree in economics or related discipline; • English fluency is required and French fluency is preferred; • The ability to work and travel regionally.
