WASH Field Advisor Horn of Africa

The WASH Field Adviser will report to the Emergency Coordinator, Horn of Africa, Coordination Unit, but will receive additional supervision and guidance from the Regional Emergency Coordinator and Senior Sector Specialist for WASH. The position provides support, assistance and advice to CARE International (CI) Country Offices, national members and the CARE Emergency Group in the WASH programming aspects of emergency response with a regional focus on the Horn of Africa (Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia, Djibouti). This support will, in particular, focus on ensuring quality WASH interventions across the CI emergency response and relief projects/programs in the Horn of Africa. The position responds at short notice to emergencies and Country Office requirements outside of East Africa as per need. Between emergencies the WASH Field Advisor will support selected Country Offices to develop their preparedness capacities. The position holder will be expected to develop an in-depth knowledge of each HoA CO programme and strategy and form a good working relationship with CO WASH teams.
