Communication and Campaigning Officer

The Lifelong Learning Platform (LLL-P) is an umbrella organisation that gathers 40 European organisations and networks active in the field of education, training and youth, based all over Europe and beyond. LLL-P aims to voice citizen’s concerns about lifelong learning. The Platform promotes a holistic vision of lifelong learning, “from cradle to grave”. The Lifelong Learning Platform is hiring a Communication and Campaign Officer. The LLLP is looking for a highly motivated dynamic team player, able to work within a multicultural environment and willing to be flexible but also able to stick to tight deadlines.  Keen interest for lifelong learning is a big plus. The position requires both technical and creative skills, an eye for detail and motivation to look for innovative solutions in membership based organisation.
JOB DESCRIPTION
 50%: Communication
  • Digital content management for and with the Platform’s members;
  • Writing and editing of articles and other related publications;
  • Monitor data and create content for all communication tools (website, social media, Basecamp, Mailchimp, Adobe Creative);
  • Implement and coordinate communication tools and visual identity (design);
  • Produce digital communications material; prepare and design layouts for policy and promotional material; work with external developers as needed;
  • Support the Project Officer with dissemination activities;
30%: Campaigning
  • Coordinate outreach campaigns in collaboration with Policy & Research Officer;
  • Liaising with members for outreach campaigns;
  • Liaising with institutional and private partners;
  • Coordinate outreach campaigns in collaboration with Policy & Research Officer;
  • Work with Communication’s leads of the Platform’s members to support members connectivity and exchange of knowledge;
20%: Events and other tasks
  • Conceptualise events with Policy & Research Officer, members and partners;
  • Coordinate the Platform’s events with administrative staff;
  • Other transversal tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2-5 years experiences in related jobs;
  • A degree or relevant experience in at least one, preferably several of the following areas: communications, journalism, European affairs or equivalent
  • An excellent command of the English language (spoken and written);Additional knowledge of one or more European languages is highly desirable;
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Knowledge of digital tools: managing website content management (ideally Wordpress), CMS, CRM;
  • Social media savvy;
  • Designing skills desirable: layout, page-setting and video editing software skills (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier Pro).
 TRANSVERSAL COMPETENCES
  • Strong organisational skills and flexibility;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills within a multinational context;
  • Being action-oriented, self-motivated, responsible, creative and willing to take initiative;
  • Having an eye for detail and knowing to keep to deadlines (even under pressure);
  • Creative and strategic thinking.
HIGHLY VALUED
  • Knowledge of the European institutions and other target audiences related to education;
  • Interest on lifelong learning and education policies;
  • Experience of working in/or with civil society, membership based organisations and general non-profit sector (volunteering included)
  • Ability to translate complex political/policy issues into appropriate messages and understandable language.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
  • Position: Communications & Campaign Officer
  • Reports to: Director
  • Capacity: Full-time (38hrs /week)
  • Location: Rue de l’industrie 10, 1000 Brussels, Belgium
  • Duration: Long-term
  • Gross salary: € 2200 / month (13.8 months year). LLLP also provides meal vouchers & monthly local public transport.
