The Right Livelihood Award was established in 1980 to “honour and support courageous people and organisations offering visionary and exemplary solutions to the root causes of global problems”. It has become widely known as the 'Alternative Nobel Prize' and there are now 166 Laureates from 68 countries – individuals and organisations we continue to follow and support. We are currently recruiting an Outreach Trainee for our Head office in Stockholm, Sweden.
Role:
We are looking for a dedicated person who shares our values and supports our vision. The Outreach trainee will support various education and outreach projects, with the aim of increasing the awareness of our Laureates’ work and accomplishments. The Outreach trainee will be involved in planning events including this year’s award ceremony, as well as workshops and seminars with schools and members of Swedish civil society groups. In addition, the traineeship will include administrative tasks, and there might be some work-related travel.
Main tasks:
  • Support around staying in contact with all former Laureates globally. This includes reaching out to Laureates where the contact is less frequent, and finding new ways to strengthening our network of Laureates
  • Practical support for the preparation of events in Sweden, including scheduling a travelling exhibition
  • Administrative support within the office
Profile:
  • University studies (ongoing or recently finished)
  • Knowledge about and interest in social, environmental, human rights and/or development issues
  • Project management skills, well organized and structured
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Excellent written and oral English, an additional language is meriting, preferably Swedish, German and Spanish
  • Workexperience of a Mac environment and knowledge of Filemaker is an advantage
 Conditions:
  • Gross salary: 10 016 SEK/month (minus tax)
