Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology is a business area in the Sandvik Group and leading supplier of equipment and tools, service, support and technical solutions for the mining industry and niches such as quarrying, tunneling, demolition, dimensional stone, recycling and civil engineering industry. The offering covers drilling and mechanical cutting, loading and hauling, crushing and screening, demolition and recycling and various solutions to increase automation. Annual sales 2015 amounted to about SEK 30 971 M, with approximately 14 000 employees.
Product Area Load & Haul’s Turku plant is a global technology and manufacturing center for loading & hauling equipment for mining and construction industries. We are now looking for an active and experienced Product Line Manager, Next Generation Products. The position is located in Turku, Finland.
Key performance areas
As Product Line Manager, you are responsible for Sandvik Load and Haul Next Generation Products. You are required to develop the Next Generation Product line working in co-operation with various key stakeholders in Research Technology & Development, Engineering, Sales & Marketing, Parts & Services, Project Management, Production, Sourcing and Supply. The main responsibilities are as follows:
  • Create and maintain a product roadmap to communicate future product direction, create consensus across key stakeholders, capture customer feedback and prioritize new product development.
  • Monitor the creation and development of new products. Understand the needs of the customer and provide direction to various key stakeholders during the product development process.
  • Analyses competitor’s offering, follow up on off road vehicle technology development, mining markets and business intelligence.
  • Track product success and define needed actions to maximize sales and increase profitability.
  • Control the Next Generation offering in terms on pricing, specification, available features, engineering changes, production cost structures and customers’ special option requests.
  • Monitor feedback and safety cases and drive the resolution of product related issues to completion.
  • Provide marketing strategy input and sales training.
  • Co-ordinate with product line managers in other Sandvik product areas to ensure a complete customer solution for the Next Generation Offering.
Your profile
You have a suitable educational background in Engineering or Science (B.E., B.Sc. or M.Sc.), completion of further business studies in Business Administration or Mining Engineering would be advantageous. You have a minimum of five years’ experience in product management or engineering. Experience in a mining environment would be regarded as a merit. You have strong people management, communication, presentation and analytical skills. You have sound understanding of mining or heavy industry risk management and safety requirements. You can easily manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups or activities, as well as make effective judgments as to prioritization and time allocation. The job requires also fluent English language skills, PC literate and willingness to travel.
