We are now looking for a Junior IT Technician to assist the IT Department with day to day tasks, providing first-line support to internal users and assisting with the migration of internal systems to a new platform.
This is an excellent opportunity for school/college leavers and for those interested in a career in IT but who have limited applicable experience. You will learn from the beginning through on the job training.
Job summary
As Junior IT Technician you will be continuously developed and trained. Initially your day to day duties will include routine tasks such as fixing telephone faults, computers and photocopiers and build up to you installing software and migrating the current systems to a new package.
Reporting to the IT manager you will provide first-line support to colleagues, assist with day to day tasks and gain in-depth knowledge of our existing internal systems and applications to enable you to assist in the migration of current systems to a new system using Microsoft technologies.
Your profile
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about starting a career in IT. Ideally you will have A Levels in IT and Math’s; a degree would be advantageous, and have GCSE’S (or equivalent) at grade C or above in IT, English language and Math’s. You will have experience of Windows Operating Systems, knowledge of Microsoft Software including MS Office and an understanding of database design, preferably MS SQL Server. You will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills and possess an enthusiasm for IT. You will be a self-motivated and proactive individual with good time management skills. You will be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team and possess strong mathematical abilities.
