Global Centres Channel Director

About Us:
Marie Stopes International is a global organisation providing personalised contraception and safe abortion services to women and girls. The services they provide give a woman the power to choose when she has children so that she’s free pursue her plans and dreams for herself and her family.
The primary responsibility of this role is to further MSI’s Goal: The Prevention of Unwanted Births and its mission of ensuring the individual’s right to**: children by choice, not chance.**
The Role:
The role of the Centres Channel Director is a vital one to the on-going success of Marie Stopes’ operations in the field. You will need to gain a deep understanding of why we operate the centres/clinics, what is offers Marie Stopes, what the risks and opportunities are in the channel and be able to promote good practice across our network.
Key to the role is the Success Model for Centres which is our strategy and operations model for the centres in the field – you will need continue to develop this model (we’ve completed Stage 1) and embed it in the country practices.
You will work with the country Channel Leads to ensure they understand and implement to Success Model, help them adopt and adapt best practice, and to coach the team. This is done through a variety of ways including online support, in-country visits and annual workshops.
This is a great role for someone who enjoys being a Subject Matter Expert without the demands of team management. You’ll deliver the above through influence and support, rather than direct line management.
About you:
You’ll need the credibility of having successfully run medical (not necessarily abortion) clinics in the field, together with significant international programmatic experience – it is vital that you understand the frustrations and issues of your audience on the ground. You’ll also need a great ‘commercial’ mindset – how do you build a three year plan, how do you attract and keep customers – it is essential the clinics attract those most in need.
Experience in working directly with donors would be an advantage, but not essential, and you’ll need to be comfortable travelling 8-10 times a year.
For more information about the role, please view the job framework on our website.
In addition you will have the right to work in the UK and be pro-choice on abortion.
Location: London (although we may consider field based staff in their country of origin)
