Job Overview:
We have an immediate opening for a Senior/Principal Scientist with a background in drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics. The candidate should have familiarity with in vitro-in vivo extrapolation (IVIVE) approaches and physiologically based pharmacokinetic modelling. Experience working in drug discovery/development within the Pharmaceutical Industry is desirable.
The successful candidate will join an internationally recognised, multidisciplinary research team, providing opportunities for further development of knowledge and skills. In addition to leading a group of scientists, the successful candidate will undertake novel research projects to further expand the capabilities of the Simcyp Simulator which requires a high level of attention to detail, good oral and written communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with the Software Development team. In addition the successful candidate will be expected to provide on-going customer support, education and training related to the use of the Simulators, and to act as tutor on the workshop programme. The post does not include routine laboratory or clinical work.

Requirements:
Essential
- PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field with several years of practical experience.
- Knowledge of in vitro assays used in drug metabolism and pharmacokinetic studies and their application in IVIVE approaches.
- Knowledge of PK/PD properties of small and/or large molecules
- Demonstrable communication skills, as evident by presentation at scientific meetings, and good interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Track record of publications in peer-reviewed literature.
- Experience of managing other scientists.
Desirable
- Some understanding of modelling and simulation principles of physiological and biological systems and parameter estimation techniques.
- Experience in prediction of drug-drug interactions.
- Awareness of R&D process in pharmaceutical companies.
