We are looking for a Research Analyst to join our Global Lubricants research team in Paris, France. The Analyst will be a core contributor to our industry-leading business intelligence service and will also be involved in lubricants-focused analytical modelling work, as well as occasional consulting support.  This is an excellent opportunity for a young research-oriented professional to gain or deepen valuable experience in industry analysis by developing his/her expertise on this complex and strategically important sector.
Main Responsibilities
  • Produce analytical profiles and reports examining trends in economic and political dynamics, regulatory environment, lubricants supply chain, lubricants demand, and competitive environment in specific markets
  • Analyze strategies of key players in the base oil and lubricants industry
  • Communicate subject matter expertise to clients and colleagues in other parts of the organization (e.g. sales, business development)
  • Interview key industry contacts on lubricants- and base oils- related topics. Proactively search for new industry contacts
  • Interpret technical information and share insights and understanding on various aspects of the lubricants and base oil industry
  • Maintain lubricants- and base oils-related databases and data models
  • Graduate degree in economics, business administration, or other relevant subject
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in industry analysis and/or other related fields
  • Excellent writing skills; previous experience in business-related journalism and/or writing for publication would be an asset
  • A high degree of intellectual curiosity, highly developed research skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, ideally with established experience in working with complex analytical models
  • Native-level proficiency in English; additional languages would be a strong advantage
  • Proficiency in use of MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritize a multifaceted workload
