Senior Sales Engineer – Composite Solutions

Key performance areas
As the Senior Sales Engineer for the Composite Solution product line, you will be responsible for the marketing and sales of Continuous Double Belt Press Systems and associated equipment in the NAFTA market. This position will focus on further developing the composite market for SPS’s range of products. You will promote, market, and sell industrial processing equipment and complete process solutions for the production of various composite sheets, laminates, and pre-pregs.
This role will require daily interface with external engineers, management representatives, R&D professionals, and other technical personnel. You will work with in-house engineering, sales, and product development to generate technical proposals, drawings, and testing plans for potential clients. The ability to understand, deliver, and convey technical information both internally and externally to clients is required.
Additionally responsibilities for the Senior Sales Engineer include:
  • Review drawings, plans and other customer documents for the proposal development process.
  • Provide technical services to clients relating to use, operation & maintenance of equipment
  • Participate in contractual review and the negotiation of Terms & Conditions with clients
  • Provide technical training to employees of client
  • Represent Sandvik at trade association meetings & exhibitions to promote products
  • Promotion of after sales services (spare parts & services) will also be required
  • Other job related duties as specified by management
The preferred location for this role is based out of the Totowa, NJ location, but a home office in another region will be considered for the right candidate. At least 50% travel (domestic and international) is expected.
Your role
You possess a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the composite industry in technical sales, engineering, or manufacturing. A strong working knowledge of composite industry processes such as Sheet Molding Compound, Extrusion, UD-Tape preparation, Lamination, Needle punching, Cross Lapping, and Carding is highly preferred.
You are a team player, comfortable interacting with colleagues of all levels, across a variety of departments. You possess the ability to communicate effectively with customers, end users, and key internal and external stakeholders. You have a strong desire to succeed, and are an outgoing and highly motivated self-starter. You are ready to spend up to 50% of your time traveling, including overnight and international travel.
