Senior Design Engineer II (Electrical)
Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment, tools, service, and technical solutions for the mining industry. The product offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.

Scope

The purpose of the job is to identify the electrical component and its function, knowledge of electrical component selection, wiring harness and circuit drawings, BOM for electrical assemblies, creation of various type of electrical components, to configure the component in the PLM library. Categorizing and standardizing the technical attributes of components in PLM based on electrical application, technical properties, standards and proposed guidelines.
Key performance areas
§ Electrical Engineering : Level 2 (Basic Understanding)
§ Describes the major electrical systems & components and their basic working principles.
§ Describes the high level application needs for electrical systems & components
§ Recognizes the main suppliers in the field
§ Interprets Electrical schematics & designs basic electrical systems.
§ Control Systems Engineering : Level 2 (Basic Understanding)
§ Describes different technical areas related to control systems.
§ Describes the control system engineering impact to his/her own area.
§ Describes the overall control system design process, theory, principles and methods.
§ Should be well accounted International standards (IEC 60617) for symbols, devices and components.
§ Should have very good understanding on electrical component symbols and can logically combine them whenever required.
§ Should have exposure to E3, Teamcenter integrated environment.
§ Fair understanding on working principle for various electrical components like Relays, Circuit Breakers, Motors, MPCB, Switchgear, Sensors, Contactors etc.
§ This position requires an experienced person who has around 3~4 years of relevant experience.
§ Good communication skill & Interpersonal Skills.
§ Good ability to work within the team.
Critical Success Factors
§ Sound knowledge of Electrical and Electronic components, Selection criteria, Significance of its characteristics and parameters.
§ Will create and configure the component database library in PLM
§ Candidate with hands on experience in E3 is preferred
§ Knowledge of components, symbols and model creation in E3 is preferred
§ Knowledge of schematic and harness layout creation in E3
Your profile
§ 2 – 4 years of electrical design experience in heavy earth moving equipments
§ Knowledge of AutoCAD, E3 preferred
§ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Reports to: Engineering Manager, Sandvik Mining & Rock Technology
