Relationship and Event Management Officer

The off-grid lighting and appliances industry has experienced rapid market growth in the last years and provided millions of households living beyond the electrical grid with life transforming access to energy. Despite the industry’s efforts and success, 1.2 billion people still lack basic access to energy. The Global Off-Grid Lighting Association (GOGLA) acts as the industry advocate supporting the industry in growing and strengthening the market for clean, quality off-grid lighting and electrical systems. With its advocacy and communication work, GOGLA seeks to realize international recognition for the benefits of off-grid lighting and sector-wide industry support. To maintain and strengthen its role as the voice of the industry, GOGLA requires the services of a Relationship and Event Management Officer. 
Job Description
  • Location: Utrecht, the Netherlands
  • Reporting to: Executive Director

The Relationship and Event Management Officer’s responsibilities include:
  • Manage and coordinate GOGLA’s customer relationship management tools, ensuring its consistent use and maximizing its application throughout GOGLA’s marketing and communications activities.
  • Act as the first point of contact with respect to applications for GOGLA membership and information requests from existing GOGLA members.
  • Monitor GOGLA’s performance in managing individual relations with its members
  • Support the development and implementation of GOGLA’s events calendar/strategy in a creative and inspiring, as well as coherent and structured way. 
  • Ensure the successful marketing of GOGLA events and events where GOGLA acts as a supporting or organizing partner.
  • Coordinate all sales activities relating to GOGLA events, including the conceptualisation of sponsorship and exhibition packages.
  • Contribute to the management and organization of GOGLA events, including coordination of activities related to preparation of communication materials.
  • Contribute to continuously extending GOGLA’s stakeholder network and building lasting relationships.
  • Support GOGLA’s fundraising activities.
  • Support GOGLA’s communications activities
Required Qualifications
  • A high level of passion for GOGLA’s mission and objectives.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in the field of marketing and sales, preferably within an international context.
  • Experience with CRM tools.
  • Experience in the marketing of events.
  • Excellent and proven communication skills in English. Proficiency in French as well as other additional languages is considered a strong asset.
  • Experienced with the design of precise and meaningful messages for different target audiences, using a variety of communication platforms and tools.
  • Ability to think strategically and work creatively.
  • Experience with working within an international organization and / or energy access is a benefit.
  • Ability to work in a small team.
