The appointee will teach courses in resource and environmental economics at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The appointee will be expected to teach in a range of mainstream undergraduate economics courses at all levels and have a high degree of flexibility and willing to join with senior academics in team teaching as and when need arises. The appointee will be expected to contribute to teaching in the face to face mode on campus and through the distance and flexible learning mode including online course development and teaching. The appointee will be based at the Laucala Campus in Suva (Fiji), however, the appointee must be willing to travel and teach at USP campuses outside of Suva for short durations. The appointee would be expected to engage in contemporary research in the field of Resource Economics, Environment and Climate Change. He/she is expected to contribute towards all aspects of administrative work related to teaching and those assigned by the Head of School.
Applicants must have Doctorate degree in Economics with specialization in Resource and Environmental Economics. Research and publications in the field of natural resources and environmental economics related to Pacific Island countries is preferable. Applicants with teaching experience in the face to face, distance, and flexible mode would be highly desirable.
The position is available for a term of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.
Salary Range: Senior Lecturer F$81,145 to F$93,629 per annum
Associate Professor F$99,311 to F$111,726 per annum
(Inclusive of 15% Gratuity)
