We are currently seeking an energetic Business Improvement Superintendent to join the Barrick team at our Plutonic operation in Western Australia.
Business Improvement Superintendent
As the BI Superintendent you will be responsible for supporting our core value of continuous improvement by identifying, facilitating and driving business improvement activities across the site. This will provide you with an outstanding opportunity to work across all areas of the business and further develop your career potential.
Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Reinforce our core value of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing cultural improvements across the site
  • Analysing the full business to identify and prioritise opportunities for improvement
  • Reinforce the vision, strategy and principles associated with the Barrick Business Improvement program
  • Coordinate Business Improvement initiatives and projectsacross the mine site
  • Execute improvement initiatives to deliver positive value against the key business drivers
  • Develop the continuous improvement culture through training, coaching and communication across site
  • Ensure that specific, measurable, appropriate KPIs are in place against which progress is regularly reviewed and monitored
  • Engage the workforce in new ideas that will improve the business
Requirements:
  • Degree in a business-related or technical discipline and / or significant experience in a mining or heavy industry environment is highly desirable
  • Those who come from an operational / trade background with an interest in developing their career are also encouraged to apply
  • Demonstrated passion to develop a continuous improvement culture and lead business improvement initiatives within your previous roles
  • Passion and energy to engage in improvement activities at all levels
  • Solid understanding and experience using continuous improvement techniques & methodologies or the ability to quickly learn these
  • Have the ability to Facilitate and Lead Change in all areas and levels of the business
  • Sound interpersonal skills especially in the areas of communication and group facilitation
  • Ability to coach site management and improvement teams as required in the use of the BI framework, strategy, tools and methodologies
The Conditions:
The position is fly in/fly out from Perth on an 8/6 roster. Excellent on-site accommodation is provided. Recreational facilities include internet café, Foxtel, swimming pool, tennis court, squash court and gymnasium. Telstra mobile and wireless broadband access is provided.
