HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER – KENYA

The organization is recruiting for a qualified, enthusiastic Human Resource Officer. This person will be based in Nairobi, Kenya and will report to the Human Resource and Administration Manager. The Human Resource Officer will be responsible for providing support in the various Human Resources

functions, which include recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance

monitoring and employee counseling/Welfare.

Principle Accountabilities

· Assist in implementation of Human Resource strategies and policies to support the business needs.

· Proactively drive the recruitment and selection process of junior staff and provide administrative support for the recruitment of senior staff.

· Prepare and coordinate induction programs for newly recruited employees.

· Maintain an effective record management system for employees to ensure confidentiality of official records.

· Manage employees’ benefits.

· Manage Statutory reports and deductions such as NSSF and NHIF

· Follow up Insurance claims with various providers.

· Manage employee records through the Human Capital Information system.

· Prepare HR reports as required from time to time.

· Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Skills and competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences/Human Resource Management from a recognized university; and/or a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management.
  • Should have worked for a minimum period of two (2) years in a busy Human Resource unit of a busy organization.
  • Computer knowledge (Prior experience in using ERP/HRIMS will be an added advantage).
  • Detail oriented, capable planner and strong analytical skills
  • Hands on and self driven
  • Fluent in English and Kiswahili
