The Department of Non-communicable Disease Epidemiology has a vacancy for a Senior Lecturer to work with the South Asia Network for Chronic Disease, Public Health Foundation of India based in New Delhi, India. The post-holder will work on existing projects on migration, inter-generational health, genetic epidemiology, and an evaluation of a mHealth application in the management of chronic diseases. Opportunities to develop new streams of research are encouraged.
The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the capacity development of South Asia Network for Chronic Disease and to the School’s postgraduate teaching programme.
Applicants should have a PhD (or equivalent) in epidemiology, social sciences, statistics or public health and research experience, preferably in NCDs. The ability to work both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary scientific team is essential. Experience of working in developing countries would be an advantage.
The appointment is currently available from 1 January 2012 until 31 December 2014, with excellent prospects for further funding, and will be made on the School’s Senior Lecturer overseas scale, either non-clinical £46,695 to £54,134 or clinical £49,670 to £70,263 per annum.
