Purpose of the Position
Under the supervision of Chief of Private Fundraising and Partnerships, the incumbent will be responsible for providing technical input and recommendations to senior members of staff, planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating fundraising strategies with the objective of acquiring new quality individual donors. This includes managing and overseeing a variety of individual fundraising techniques; new initiatives as well as new and existing pledge and one-time acquisition, in order to ensure the growth of pledge donor to achieve an ultimate goal of maximizing the number of new donors acquired and the related net income.
Major Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective acquisition strategies across channels, utilizing and maximizing a variety of fundraising techniques to drive new pledge donor as well as meet agreed targets and achieve net income. This includes scoping and testing of new channels and initiatives as well as analyzing and evaluating individual fundraising opportunities with the objective of identifying new additional, sustainable high-volume income streams and diversifying acquisition activity.
  • Source, manage and provide operational support to agencies, contractors and suppliers engaged to support the donor acquisition program ensuring that they perform at high standards. This includes briefing, training and motivation of outsourced staff or others representing UNICEF such as F2F fundraisers and telemarketers. Evaluate their performance in order to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Collaborate with relevant external partners to ensure appropriate management of acquisition to maximize results.
  • Support the development and nurturing of partnerships with corporates, media companies and other business supporting acquisition activities, including those providing pathways to pledge.
  • Enhance PFP efficiency and effectiveness through implementation follow-on, including monitoring inputs, local conditions and resources, assistance and PFP programme implementation status.
  • Develop investment fund applications, monitor fund utilization and prepare required reporting in a timely and effective manner.
  • Analyze collected data and information and prepare monitoring progress reports; draft changes in PFP work plans relevant to acquiring new individual donors and assist in identification of required budget, supplies and equipment as well as in the drafting of Country Programme Recommendation and other project documentation, assuring accuracy and consistency with established rules, regulations and plans of action, especially an agreed strategic plan which ensures maximum effectiveness of fund availability from new donors as well as maximum diversification of risks.
  • Provide technical assistance for customer support which includes but no limited to on responses to prospecting donor inquiries via mail, email, phone, social media, etc. and perform other related tasks as may be assigned from time to time.
  • Supervise, oversee and monitor assistant(s) and/or consultant(s).
Qualifications of Successful Candidate
  • Advanced university degree in Business Administration, Marketing Communication, or a related field.
A first level university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • Minimum two years of professional work experience at Management level in managing fundraising/resource mobilization, marketing, advertising, sales, public relations, account management, brand management, business development or other related fields. Hands-on experience in database management as well as donor/customers acquisition is an asset.
  • Experience in latest developments in supporter engagement and customer relationship management is desired.
  • High proficiency in knowledge of English and Thai, both spoken and written.
  • Experience in an international organization desirable, familiarity with UN systems is a plus.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, plan and execute ideas.
  • Good analytical, negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle and complete multiple tasks within deadlines.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and a track record of success.
  • Proven proficiency and good knowledge of computer applications, including data management related.
