Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer

Location: Tunbridge Wells, Kent, UK
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Salary: £20,000 - £25,000, dependent on experience
We are in the early stages of implementing our ambitious strategy and to improve the lives of people in rural Africa we will; expand our work to new geographical locations, including new countries; strengthen our consultations with and accountability to communities; identify and test innovative ways of working to improve our effectiveness; proactively share with others what we have learnt; strengthen our external relationships where appropriate; and place child safeguarding and protection at the centre of our work.
The successful candidate will provide valuable support to Programmes teams in Kenya and Uganda and to the Head of Impact and Learning in the UK to ensure that Build Africa generates reliable and accurate data and learning at both the project level and the organisational level; and to promote the use of such information to ensure continual learning and improvement, in order to deliver high quality programmes across Build Africa’s portfolio.
You will bring with you: sound knowledge of monitoring, evaluation and learning and its role within the project cycle, a good understanding of opportunities and challenges in developing and implementing international development projects, and excellent skills in data collection, management and analysis; together with an ability to work across teams in a fast paced and ambitious environment.
This position is offered on a full time contract and will be based in our Tunbridge Wells office. Working from home a proportion of the time will be considered as will a degree of flexitime. Build Africa will also offer a 6% pension contribution in addition to salary.
