Dean of General Education
Position Summary
KIMEP University, Academic Affairs Division, invites applications for one faculty position for Dean of General Education. The position is a 12month (including vacation period) fulltime academic appointment to begin August 16, 2017. Responsibilities involve directing the academic design, delivery of general education courses within KIMEP University’s baccalaureate curriculum. The dean maintains the sequence of general education courses attended by all undergraduate students. The dean will also teach general education courses, serve in program and university committees and conduct scholarly research.
We seek a talented teacher, administrator and innovative scholar who is actively engaged in research and enthusiastic about teaching baccalaureate degree students and serving the University, local communities and the profession. We are looking for productive and cooperative colleague who will bring new perspectives to theory, research and practice in General Education course design and delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in curriculum/instruction from an accredited institution. Applicants should have at least 5 years of teaching experiences in reputable universities. Applicants should be able to teach in English.
ABDs will be considered who meet the position qualifications and include in their application materials a letter from the dissertation chair confirming defense date prior to the position start date. Candidates must have a record of scholarship, which includes published research in refereed journals and/or books.
Preferred Qualifications:
Applicants with a track record of demonstrated competence in general education course delivery and administration including international experience of undergraduate curriculum development and English for Academic Purposes will be given extra consideration.

Compensation
Rank and salary are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Compensation after tax compares favorably with net salaries in western countries.
Limited on campus housing is available to rent. In addition to salary, a benefits package includes basic healthcare, reduced tuition rates for KIMEP courses, subsidy for children’s school tuition and relocation allowance. New faculty members are provided with a reduced teaching schedule during the first semester. Summer paid teaching is typically available.
