Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in TESOL/EFL

Position Summary
KIMEP University Language Center invites applicants for position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer of TESOL/EFL. The post will involve teaching a variety of courses, co-ordination, and preparing teaching and testing materials. This is a full-time appointment, renewable subject to strong performance evaluations. Duties include (but are not limited to) teaching 12-15 hours per week, developing curricular materials for English language instruction and TEFL courses, and university service.
Minimum qualifications
  • MA in TESOL/EFL, (the MA degree should be in hand by the application deadline);
  • Native or near-native spoken and written proficiency in English;
  • Two years of teaching experience at the college or university level;
  • Strong record of effective teaching;
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in curricular innovation and pedagogical methods (e.g., online, hybrid, or distance learning);
  • Administrative experience is not required but desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidate who has significant experience of teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP).
The Language Center
The Language Center at KIMEP University delivers high quality language courses for undergraduate and graduate students that assist them in fully and effectively participating in their degree programs. The Center also offers three academic programs aimed at enriching opportunities for KIMEP students to encounter courses in the Humanities. It has 26 full-time faculty and six administrative staff

Compensation
Rank and salary are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Compensation after-tax compares favorably with net salaries in western countries. Limited on-campus housing is available to rent. In addition to salary, a benefits package includes basic healthcare, reduced tuition rates for KIMEP courses, subsidy for children’s school tuition and relocation allowance. New faculty members are provided with a reduced teaching schedule during the first semester. Summer paid teaching is typically available.
